How do I identify the four models of the HAKKO MACH-I Series by appearance?
For the model with a flat plug, you can identify its type by the part no. label and the color of cord bushing. If it has American type 3pin plug, you cannot identify the type by the color of cord bushing. Verify it by the part no. label on the main body. However, you can recognize the 918(E) by measuring its tip because its overall size and the size of the element cover are larger than those of the 920(E) - 922(E).


Models with 2-pin flat plug

It is possible to identify them by the colors of the cord bushings.
918: Yellow
920: Black
921: Blue
922: Yellow

Though both the 918 and the 922 have yellow cord bushings, it is easy to distinguish the 918 from the 922 due to its large size.
