Usage / Applications

  • Use FT-700 in combination with chemical paste FS-100 .

Cleaning procedure

  • Re-tinning is now completed.

The suitable temperature for cleaning is about 350°C.

  1. Remove carbides and oxides with the tip polisher FT-700.

  2. Tin the tip with the chemical paste FS-100 (to remove oxides).

  3. Repeat the above steps of 1 and 2 until solder wets on the tip surface.
  4. Remove the chemical paste FS-100 left on the tip.

  5. Feed enough solder to cover the tip to prevent oxidation at the end.

When the tip temperature is over 400°C, even if the oxidation film is removed by FT-700, the tip can turn to be oxidized quickly again.

When carbides and oxides cannot be removed by the above procedure

When carbides and oxides are hard, they sometimes cannot be removed even by the FT-700. In this case, first use the brush which included in the unit as one of accessories and clean the tip by the above procedure.

When the brush is used, small scratches may be produced on the iron plating surface of the tip.
Do not always use the brush, but use only when oxidation cannot be removed by cleaning with FT-700.
