Please make sure to do the following before using the FT-710

Please align the iron before using it.

It may cause poor cleaning, if you do not align the tip position.

The procedure of aligning the soldering tip

1. Power off the soldering iron and wait until the tip gets completely cold.

2. Attach the receptacle, which is favorable with the iron and the tip, to the FT-710.

   Not all Hakko soldering irons/tips are compatible with the FT-710.

   Please check the applicable iron and tip configuration, and confirm "Applicable Soldering Iron List" to select the suitable receptacle.

   

3. Remove the cover.

   Please remove the cover from the base upward.

   The cover cannot be removed as long as the AC adapter is plugged into the DC jack.

   

4. Adjust the receptacle.

   Adjust the receptacle as the tip end comes to the line of the axis on two brushes.
   Removing the cleaning brush will make it easier to align the iron tip.

   

   It is possible to adjust the position by using the attached gauge.

   

   

   

5. Fix the receptacle with the lock nut once finished aligning the iron tip.
