Can't see anything on display! - Why?

Factor.1 A battery has been consumed.

Replace the battery with a new one.

Replace the battery when "B" mark (battery low alarm) appears on the display.
Example of display in case of low battery on FG-100(discontinued)

Factor.2 Auto shutoff function is working.

It will automatically turn the power off if a measured temperature does not exceed 100℃(212℉) for 3 minutes.
Turn the power on again for measurement.
