Soldering tiny chip parts such as 0603
The following shapes are recommended. It introduces how to select the size of tip.
* Click icon and jump to each tip shape details.
HAKKO Recommendation for Selection of Tip Size
The recommended size is less than 0.1mm from A (See the right.).
If larger than A, it may touch the nearby ICs.
Shape I, J and S are introduced as the best shape for soldering tiny chips.
Other shapes could be suitable if the recommended size is available.
For example, the tip end size from R0.2 to R0.3 is best for soldering 0603 chip. T12 series offers you the following 4 types.

Very fine tip end makes it easy to solder a tiny chip. |
Use Shape J
This shape differs from Shape B and I by bending the tip end and is capable of soldering by applying the tip in 2 ways: face and point. It offers other recommended usages.

Use Shape S
This shape is derived from Shape B, C, D and I. It is used for soldering tiny chips at the narrow pitches.
