Features

Automated solder feeding and solder/flux splash prevention
Minimize solder and flux splash
As shown below, when solder is cut with a V-groove it enables the release of gas pressure generated by the flux, thereby suppressing splash. However, because the V-groove exposes the flux to outside air the solder cannot be stored for a long period of time.
When using solder with the HAKKO 374, you can groove the solder that you require.

A feeder pen (pen-shaped feeding guide) can also be used.
Using a feeder pen enables you to work with both hands
• Automatic solder feeding with a switch on the grip.
• You can keep your hands clean.
• No need to draw out solder wire.

Solder splash test
Solder Ø0.8 x 250 mm (Sn 60%)
Feeding Condition Solder is fed for 5 seconds at speed of 10 mm/sec in 5 cycles.
Tip Temperature 400ºC
Solder ball splash test results / It is possible to reduce solder splash by cutting a groove along the length of the solder
* The effect of splash prevention may differ depending on the work condition.

<Result> Number of splashes of flux/solder
Solder without a V-groove 81
Solder with a V-groove (cut by 374) 0

Hints On Use
1. I want to use the HAKKO 374 for a different solder diameter.
Change all of the driving/following pulley assembly, supply nozzle, guide pipe assembly, and tube unit.
2. I want to change the soldering iron used with the HAKKO 373/374.
Change the iron holder, guide pipe assembly, and tube unit if they are not compatible with the soldering iron to be used.

How to use

hikaru What advantages does the rewind function have?
If the solder remains near the tip after soldering, the heat from the tip will cause it to melt, which in turn causes the flux on the end of the solder to splash or results in or excessive solder feed due to solder beading. The rewind function is designed to help avoid these issues.
This mechanism ensures smooth, trouble-free soldering work. The length of solder that is rewound can be adjusted by inserting a flat-bladed precision screwdriver into the adjustment hole on the side of the soldering station.
set

The length of solder rewound can be adjusted between 0 mm and 5 mm. Make sure that the length of solder rewound is always shorter than the length fed. If the rewind length is longer than the feed length, the solder will be completely rewound.
