How to Use the Temperature Probe for Hot Air Rework System
(No. C1541)

The Temperature Probe for Hot Air Rework System (No. C1541) is equipped with 2 types of sensors. Before measuring temperatures as follows, connect the sensor to the thermometer ( HAKKO FG-100 or HAKKO FG-101).
Sensor A: When measuring the temperature of hot air blown from the nozzle:
Correcting thermal control can be made by confirming the temperature of the hot air that is actually blown.
Applicable products: SMD rework HAKKO FR-801, HAKKO FR-802, HAKKO FR-803, HAKKO 850B, HAKKO 852, HAKKO FR-820
Sensor B: When measuring the temperature of applicable parts (workpieces):
Rework can be performed without causing damage to the parts being reworked (QFP, etc.)

Let’s look at how to measure the temperature using Sensor A!

First, treat the sensor A as follows:
  1. Bend the end as shown in the photo,
  2. in a contactless manner
  3. with a 1-2mm gap
  4. apply the end to the measuring point while being careful not to apply hot air to the contact section.
Upon purchase, the end is stretched out straight.

Be careful that hot air is only applied to the end section. Failure to do so may not allow correct temperature to be measured.

Next, let’s look at measurement samples using Hot Air Rework System (HAKKO FR-801, etc.) and Preheater (HAKKO FR-820).

A) Method for measuring hot air from Hot Air Rework System

Examples of use in combination with HAKKO FG-100 and HAKKO FR-803 Examples of use in combination with HAKKO FG-100 and HAKKO FR-803B
* It is also possible to use in combination with HAKKO FG-101.
Remove one screw from the main body and secure probe using the screw supplied with the probe. Condition where the probe end is positioned in a contactless manner with a 1-2mm gap from the nozzle end

B) Method for measuring hot air with Hot Air Rework System mounted on the rework fixture

Examples of use in combination with HAKKO FG-100, rework fixture (No. C1392B) and HAKKO FR-803 Examples of use in combination with HAKKO FG-100, rework fixture (No. C1392B) and HAKKO FR-803B
* The same method of use is employed for Hot Air Rework Systems such as HAKKO FR-801and HAKKO FR-802.
* It is also possible to use in combination with HAKKO FG-101.
