* Regarding the free distribution of solder spatter prevention covers for HAKKO FX-301
Thank you for choosing HAKKO.
HAKKO has confirmed that in certain circumstances solder may spatter small solder balls out of the HAKKO FX-301 when the power is turned on.
This symptom occurs as the solder melts when the temperature rises if the power is turned on under the following conditions:
- - When using eutectic solder
- - When solder is from 6 to 12 mm below the top surface of the solder pot
 |
* Solder spatter has not been confirmed when using lead-free solder or when the solder pot is full to within 5 mm of the top surface.
|
As a countermeasure for this issue HAKKO is distributing solder spatter prevention covers free of charge. See the chart below for applicable serial numbers and how to apply.
After turning the HAKKO FX-310 on, the solder spatter prevention cover should be put on until the display stabilizes at the set temperature (when the display varies from flashing to lit at the set temperature.).
