The display shows "S-E", and the buzzer continuously beeps. Why?
Please check the following two points.
  1. Has the soldering tip been inserted all the way in? Otherwise, an error indication appears.
  2. Does the resistance value of the soldering tip stay in the normal range? The normal range is between 7Ω and 9Ω. If it is out of the range, replace the soldering tip.
If the problem still persists, please send it for repair.

The digital display shows "t-E". Why?
The soldering iron other than the HAKKO 912, which is designed exclusively for this model, is connected. Connect the HAKKO 912 with this unit.

The unit is not powered up. Why?
The following are the common causes (in order of likeliness);
  1. - The inlet fuse is blown
  2. - The fuse of power supply board is blown
  3. - The transformer is faulty
  4. - The PWB is faulty
Check that the 1. and 2. fuses are not blown. If neither of them are blown, 3. or 4. is likely to be a cause. Please send the unit for repair.

How can I deactivate the auto power shut-off function?
Turn the power OFF and then ON again.
* The "auto power shut-off" is the function that stops the flow of electric current to the heating element when the unit is not used for soldering work for longer than 30 minutes. This reduces the oxidation of tips and also saves energy. The unit beeps three times when entering auto power shut off. When the temperature drops below 100°C (200°F), the panel display shows "---".
