Maintenance of desoldering tool

If solder is not completely melted

If the sucking capability is reduced, insufficient cleaning of the following 5 sections is assumed.


Cleaning filter pipes (HAKKO 815, HAKKO816)

Check each component of the filter pipe according to the following procedures.
 *For HAKKO 484 users, click here.
 *For HAKKO 808 users, click here.
 *For HAKKO 809 users, click here.

If the heating element is heated, the filter pipe is also heated.Cool the filter pipe sufficiently before operation.

Position of filter pipe (HAKKO 815 and 816) Part names of filter pipe internal parts (HAKKO 815 and 816)

1. Check the front holder.
If a breakage or crack due to hardening is observed, replace it with a new one.

2. Check the spring filter.
If half or more solder is left without being melted or the filter is deformed or deteriorated as shown in the photo, replace it with a new one.

3. Check the ceramic paper filter (L).
If the ceramic paper filter (S) is installed by mistake, the performance may be decreased or the unit may malfunction at an early stage.

If the filter is stiff with flux or residual solder, replace it with a new one.

4. Check if the insulation plate for the heating element is omitted.
If the insulation plate is omitted, replace the entire heating element.

1. Attach the spring filter to the front holder.

2. Attach the ceramic paper filter (L) to the filter pipe and then attach the front holder to the spring filter.

3. Apply silicone grease to the O-ring and install the filter pipe in the handpiece.
