Cleaning the filter pipe (HAKKO 484)

Check each component of the filter pipe according to the following procedures.

When the heating element reaches a high temperature, the filter pipe will reach a high temperature at the same time. Cool down the filter pipe fully before operation.

1. Check the filter pipe.

If breakage or a crack is observed, replace it with a new one.
If residual solder remains, clean it off.

2. Check the steel wool.

If residual solder remains, replace it with a new one.

3. Check the ceramic paper filter (L).

If the ceramic paper filter (S) is installed by mistake, the performance may be decreased or the unit may malfunction at an early stage.

If the filter is stiff with flux or residual solder, replace it with a new one.
