Case 1 The tip is not heated sufficiently.

Case 1: The tip is not heated sufficiently.

4 possible causes are as follows:
Please check from Cause 1 to Cause 4 in order.

Cause 1: The power cord and/or connection plug are disconnected. The tip is not inserted completely.
Please check the entry point of power cord, connection plug and tip each.

Cause 2: Lost some parts of inside Handpiece, or tip being loosen.
Handpiece includes a pair of screws for nipple, Washer(2) and O-ring as a following picture.
If you lose any parts at the time of tip replacement etc, the tip will loosen gradually, resulting in the cause of a failure.
Please check the parts again. In case you lose any parts, please order them from a distributor.

Part Number Part Name Specification
B2907 Wahser Set of 2
B2887 O-ring/P10
B2888 Nipple With screw

Cause 3: Blown-out heating element due to sits life/deterioration
Heating element is consumable part. It will deteriorate when it is used for a long period of time.
As for blown-out checking, please follow the instruction manual.
(Please refer to the following manual)

Check for a broken heater or sensor   1. Check for a broken heater or sensor
Heater resistance (Red-Red) 1.8 - 2.6Ω(Normal)
Sensor resistance (White-White) 43 - 58Ω(Normal)
If the values are outside the above value, replace the tip.
Check the grounding line
  1. Unplug the connection cord from the station.
  2. Measure the resistance value between Pin 3 and the tip.
  3. If the value exceeds 2Ω(at room temperature), perform the tip maintenance described on section 2, maintenance for the tip. If the value still does not decrease, check the connection cord for breakage.
Checking the connection cord for breakage
  1. Remove the soldering tip and the nipple.
  2. Push the socket out from inside the handle assembly.
  3. Measure the resistance values between the connector and the lead wires at the socket as follows:
Pin 1-Blue Pin 2-White Pin 3-Green
Pin 4-Red Pin 5-Black

If any value exceeds 0Ω or is ∞, replace the handle assembly.

Caution
Do not lose all of the spare parts.
When reassembling, match the convex part of the handle assembly with the concave parts of the socket.
  1. Unplug the power cord from the power receptacle.
  2. Remove the fuse holder.
  3. Replace the fuse.
  4. Put the fuse holder back in place.

Cause 4: Blown-Heating element/Blown-fuse due to twisted lead wires being connected to the tip, or PWB being broken
Flux was accumulated inside the nipple so that the nipple and the tip were stuck. When you replace the tip (or loosen the nipple), the tip and nipple turn together, resulting in the lead wires being connected to the tip were twisted.

[Tip has twisted lead wires]
Please check if the lead wires are NOT twisted as a following picture.

[Lead wires of Brand new tip]
The lead wires of a normal tip are straight as a following picture.

Countermeasure
1 Please make sure that the nipple and tip do NOT turn together when you tighten the nipple (replace the tip).
2 Clean regularly the attached flux inside Handpiece such as inside the nipple, O-ring, etc. with rubbing alcohol.

It's time for cleaning when you found that the tip turned along with the nipple.

In case of broken PWB, please send it for repair through a distributor.
