POINT 3. Acceptable judgment range (800kΩ≤R≤9MΩ)

The judgment range (800kΩR9MΩ) is based on the details specified by ANSI/ESD S1.1-2006 of the ESD Association wrist strap standard.

[800kΩ]
The standard specifies that the safe current to human body is less than 0.5mA and the resistance required when touching AC240V as the maximum commercial power source is 800kΩ.

[9MΩ]
The standard specifies that 10MΩ or less is suitable. 9MΩ is set as the upper criteria limit.

[800kΩ≤R≤9MΩ borderline tolerances]
The lower limit range (800kΩ) has +10%, -0% tolerance and the upper limit range (9MΩ) has +0%, -10% tolerance.

[HAKKO 498 with the former specifications]

The acceptable range for products manufactured before 1994 is 500kΩR10MΩ. This judgment range has been used by our company because the whole industry employed these specifications. If the current specifications are required, purchase a new one. If the inner structure is different, it is impossible to change a product with the former specifications to the current ones.
